GEA announces appointment of new General Manager

Gladstone Engineering Alliance (GEA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Masters as General Manager.

Mr Masters starts his role as General Manager on Monday 28 March 2022.

Mr Masters brings with him over seven-years experience as a General Manager, and 30-years experience working with boards, committees and members.

Mr Masters also served a four-year term as a Councillor with Gladstone Regional Council and has extensive experience working in collaboration with industry, business and the community and advocating with all tiers of government.

GEA Board President Patrice Brown said the quality of candidates who applied for the role of General Manager was of the highest calibre and the board would like to thank all the candidates for the time and effort they put into their applications.

“GEA is extremely fortunate to have a high performing team of employees who work to optimise outcomes for the benefits of the SMEs who make up our membership base,” Ms Brown said.

“Under Mr Masters leadership we are confident the team will enhance the delivery of services to GEA members and strengthen the connections with established industry, new project proponents and other businesses working in the engineering, manufacturing, energy, construction and industry supply chain sectors.”

GEA General Manager Peter Masters said it was an exciting time to be joining the team at Gladstone Engineering Alliance and he was looking forward to working with the staff and board to advocate for its members and help drive future growth and prosperity in the industrial sector.

“Having grown up in Central Queensland, I am extremely proud of the region, what it has achieved to date and the potential it holds for the future,” Mr Masters said.

“GEA has a strong history of working towards establishing a world-class industry supply in Central Queensland and I am looking forward to ensuring that GEA continues to meet its objectives and providing its members with unparalleled opportunities to grow their capabilities and capacity.”
